Navajo County in north central Arizona... * WHEN...Until 1115 PM MST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks and normally dry washes is imminent or occurring. Roads are closed and impassable due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 410 PM MST, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area, with Highway 73 closed between Carrizo and Cedar Creek. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... North Fork White River and Bear Canyon. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cedar Creek, Cow Pasture Butte, Bull Butte, Blue Rock Butte, Carrizo, Cibeque Peak, Round Top Mountain and Cibeque Falls. - This includes the following highways... Apache County in northeastern Arizona... * WHEN...Until 1130 PM MST /1230 AM MDT/ Tonight. * IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks and normally dry washes is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 350 PM MST /450 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated an area of very heavy rainfall across the warned area. This has led to flooded roadways within the area, and the Little Colorado River stream gage near St Johns has risen to Minor Flood stage. In the past, water begins to impact homes along Water Street next to the Little Colorado River. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Forestdale Creek, Silver Creek, Show Low Creek, Carrizo Creek, Corduroy Creek, Turkey Canyon, North Fork White River, Cottonwood Canyon, Walnut Creek, Cedar Creek, Thompson Creek and East Cedar Creek. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen over a broad area. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Silver Creek, Brown Creek, Rocky Arroyo and Concho Flat Wash. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive and long duration rainfall. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeastern Arizona, including areas from Flagstaff to St. John's and areas northward. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Flooding will be possible over burn areas, low-water crossings, creeks, streams, washes and swimming holes. Some larger creeks and rivers are expected to exceed bankfull. Flooding of paved roads and highway underpasses will be possible. Unpaved roads could become muddy and impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Low pressure will interact with tropical moisture to produce numerous showers and embedded thunderstorms, with heavy rain that will fall over saturated soils and burn scars.
