Information on update: Some updates to further details to include chance of stronger winds along the south coast. An area of heavy rain will move northeast across the warning area during Thursday morning and afternoon before clearing to the east through the evening. Given recent very wet weather, there is potential for some disruption to travel and possible flooding. 

Much of the warning area will see 15-25 mm but some places could see 40-50 mm, with the highest totals falling over high ground of south Wales and Dartmoor. In addition, strong winds will accompany the rain, and may exacerbate some of the impacts. There is a chance of 60-70mph gusts along the exposed south coast, and perhaps 40-50mph some way inland across southwest England.

Information on update: Warning area reduced in the east, whilst moving from medium to low impacts in response to lower forecast rainfall accumulations. A period of rain, heavy at times, especially over high ground, will move slowly east across this region during Wednesday. Coming off the back of recent very wet weather, some travel disruption and flooding is likely across much of the warning area. 

10-20 mm of rain is likely to accumulate quite widely across the warning area, but 40-60 mm is possible over the high ground of Dartmoor and the hills of south Wales.

Rain should clear to the east during Wednesday evening and into the early hours of Thursday.
