Figures from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) post-storm reports, and the publication: The Deadliest Atlantic Tropical Cyclones, 1492 - Present. That publication also lists seven other November hurricanes that may have caused loss of life between 1554 - 1838, but the casualties figures are unknown.
