Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Portions of central, northeast, and northern West Virginia. * WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 10 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility in exposed ares on higher ridges. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. .......LIGHT SNOWFALL EXPECTED OVERNIGHT INTO THE MORNING....... A round of snow is expected tonight into Wednesday morning. Amounts will generally be below an inch for most areas, but heavier bands of snowfall are possible across portions of southeast Ohio and northern West Virginia. Up to 3 inches of new snowfall is possible across the northeastern mountains, including areas such as Snowshoe. Travel Wednesday morning may be difficult in some areas. Allow extra time to reach your destination and be prepared for changes in visibility. If you encounter slick roads, slow down and increase the distance between your vehicle and those that surround you.
