Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations between 1/4 and 1/2 inch possible. * WHERE...Portage, Wood, and Waupaca Counties. * WHEN...From Wednesday evening through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause tree damage and power outages. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions will likely impact the Thursday morning commute. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. People should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
