* WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, wet snow. Additional snow
and sleet accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. For the Winter
Storm Watch, heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and
sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations between
one tenth and three tenths of an inch possible.

* WHERE...Douglas County.

* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 7 AM CDT Friday. For
the Winter Storm Watch, from Friday afternoon through Saturday
morning.

* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice.
Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Worst conditions will be closer to Lake
Superior as strong winds off of the Lake will lead to higher snow
totals and greater reductions in visibilities.

The majority of the snowfall is expected to fall during the daytime
hours. With the high sun angle and temperatures hovering just above
freezing, snowfall will have a difficult time accumulating on warm
surfaces leading to a slushy mess.

* WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and
waves 8 to 13 ft expected.

* WHERE...Duluth MN to Port Wing WI, Port Wing to Sand Island WI
and Outer Apostle Islands Beyond 5 NM from Mainland.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
