result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind chills will remain at or below zero
during the day on Saturday due to windy conditions and cold
temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and

...POTENTIAL WINTER COMMUTING HAZARD FOR THE WASHINGTON AND
BALTIMORE METRO AREAS, CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MARYLAND, AND NORTHERN
VIRGINIA THROUGH THIS EVENING...

There is a potential for hazardous commuting conditions for this
afternoon and evening's commute. A period of light snow is LIKELY (a
60 percent chance) during this time. The best chance for snow will
be between 1 PM and 7 PM with a coating to an inch of snow
accumulation likely.

If this threat does materialize, any untreated roads could quickly
turn snow covered and slippery. This could lead to hazardous traveling
conditions.

If commuting this afternoon and evening, be aware of the POSSIBILITY
of significant travel disruptions. Plan ahead by allowing for extra
travel time, and consider using public transportation and telework
options.
