The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM to 7 PM CDT Tuesday. * AFFECTED AREA...In South Dakota, McPherson, Brown, Edmunds, Faulk, Spink, Hyde, Hand and Buffalo. * WINDS...Northwest 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control or suppress. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&

...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY... Dry grasses combined with hot and dry weather will result in near critical fire weather conditions today. Across much of the area, minimum relative humidity will range from around 25 to 30 percent, with winds gusting 25 to 35 mph out of the south to southeast. Winds will diminish early this evening, with relative humidity rising to 40 percent by around 9 PM.
