...FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 545 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR
CENTRAL LANCASTER AND CENTRAL YORK COUNTIES...

The heavy rain has ended. Flood waters have started to recede, but
some localized flooding will continue for a couple more hours,
especially just west of Lancaster. A flood warning is anticipated to
replace the Flash Flood warning for that area. Please continue to
heed remaining road closures.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR WEST CENTRAL LANCASTER AND CENTRAL YORK COUNTIES...

At 513 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in East
Hempfield Township, West Hempfield Township and Columbia borough.
Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will
continue, but little additional rainfall is expected. Flooding is
already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by earlier thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Columbia, Mount Joy, East Petersburg, East York,
Stonybrook-Wilshire, Salunga-Landisville, Maytown, Mountville,
Hallam, Marietta, Wrightsville, Yorklyn, Rheems, Yorkana, East
Prospect, Washington Boro and Lancaster Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN YORK COUNTY...

At 508 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain have moved off to the south of central York County. Up to 3
inches of rain have fallen. Any current flooding impacts will
continue, but little to no additional rainfall is expected.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Red Lion, Spry, Dallastown, Shrewsbury, Tyler Run-Queens Gate, Glen
Rock, Jacobus, Windsor, Yoe, Cross Roads, Brogue, Shenks Ferry,
Safe Harbor, Loganville, Winterstown and Felton.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
