AFTERNOON FOR ALLEGHENY, WESTERN FAYETTE, NORTHEASTERN GREENE,
CENTRAL WASHINGTON AND SOUTHWESTERN WESTMORELAND COUNTIES...

At 1105 AM EDT, local fire department reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already
occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Local fire department reported flooded roadways in Baldwin.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Ross Township,
Monroeville, Moon Township, McMurray, McKeesport, Uniontown,
Canonsburg, Avella, Gastonville, Shaler Township, Plum, West
Mifflin, North Side Pittsburgh, Baldwin and Upper St. Clair.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHERE...Portions of Pennsylvania, including the following areas,
Allegheny, Fayette, Higher Elevations of Fayette, Higher Elevations
of Westmoreland and Westmoreland and northern West Virginia,
including the following areas, Eastern Preston, Preston and Ridges
of Eastern Monongalia and Northwestern Preston.

* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Development of narrower bands of heavy rain that slowly train
over the same areas could result in localized flash flooding.
