Issued: 6:07 PM Jan. 10, 2026 – National Weather Service
...AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST SUNDAY WITHIN THE VALLEYS IN DOUGLAS, JOSEPHINE AND JACKSON COUNTIES... ...FREEZING FOG ADVISORY HAS EXPIRED... * WHAT...For the Air Stagnation Advisory, poor air quality will continue. This is due to an inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface that will continue to trap pollutants within the valleys in Douglas, Josephine, and Jackson Counties. For the Freezing Fog Advisory, daytime warming and signs of increasing visibilities show the hazard is decreasing. This product will be allowed to expire. * WHERE...Within the valleys of Josephine and Jackson Counties. * WHEN...Until 10 AM PST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Poor air quality may cause issues for people with respiratory problems. Most outdoor burning will likely be prohibited as poor ventilation develops. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong area of high pressure will build in through Saturday, then weaken slightly on Sunday. This will lead to poor mixing of the atmosphere and the trapping of pollutants. The high is likely to strengthen again early next week. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air. &&
