...Moderate to Heavy Snow to Develop this Evening.... Snow will rapidly overspread the area this evening and will become moderate to heavy at times, reducing visibilities and covering roadways. Snowfall rates of 1 to locally 2 inches per hour will be possible for about a 2 to 3 hour period. The snow will then mix with some sleet as early as 10 pm across the NYC metro and after midnight for most other locations. In addition, freezing drizzle is also expected as the precipitation lightens up in intensity during the early morning hours. Motorists need to be exercise caution tonight and be prepared for hazardous travel. Travel is not recommended.
