...THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL IMPACT THE AREA
THIS AFTERNOON...

Thunderstorms continue to develop across the Southern Tier of New
York, northeastern Pennsylvania and portions of the western
Catskills. Torrential downpours are the main threat with these
thunderstorms. Isolated to scattered instances of flash flooding
could occur where storms stall, back build or train over the same
locations. Locations that saw excessive rainfall and flooding
yesterday will also be more vulnerable to flash flooding.

Remain weather aware and have a plan on what to do if strong
thunderstorms or flash flooding strikes. Stay tuned to our

outlets for the latest watch and warning information.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central New York, including the following
areas, Broome, Delaware, Sullivan and Tioga and northeast
Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Bradford, Lackawanna,
Luzerne, Northern Wayne, Pike, Southern Wayne, Susquehanna and
Wyoming.

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms this
afternoon and evening are expected to be slow-moving and can
produce torrential downpours with rainfall rates near or
exceeding 2 inches per hour at times. Showers and storms may
track over the same areas multiple times, which will increase
the threat for flash flooding.
