...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of western Nevada, including the following
counties, Douglas and Lyon.

* WHEN...Until 615 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.
Dangerous flows over low-water crossings.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 302 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
has fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Johnson Lane, Mount Siegel, Mount Como, Fish Springs, and
Smith Valley.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible due
to thunderstorms. Flash flooding is also possible over burn scar
areas including the Davis, Conner, Bear, Mill, Inn and Tamarack
burn scars.

* WHERE...Portions of California, including the following areas,
Greater Lake Tahoe Area, Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra
Counties and Mono County and western Nevada, including the
following areas, Greater Lake Tahoe Area, Greater Reno-Carson
City-Minden Area and Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties.

* WHEN...From noon PDT today through 9 PM PDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations
including burn scars. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and
urban areas.
