...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR A DAM FLOODGATE RELEASE NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3
PM PDT FRIDAY, JUNE 02...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by upstream dam release continues along the
East Walker River.

* WHERE...A portion of western Nevada, including the following
county, Lyon.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM PDT Friday Jun 02.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding is expected to impact East Walker Road
and other low lying areas. River flows are expected to remain
elevated until further notice.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 220 PM PDT, Flooding will result in the advisory area from
an upstream dam floodgate release.
- Flows along the East Walker downstream of Bridgeport should
remain mostly steady-state around 9.6 feet through the week
with slight fluctuations due to rainfall in the basin.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
mainly rural areas of Southern Lyon County, including East
Walker Road.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

River Flood Warning

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring with the forecast
oscillating between Minor and Moderate stage through the week.

* WHERE...Walker River Near Mason at Snyder Lane.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Moderate flooding of lowlands, pasture and
farmland adjacent to river throughout Mason Valley-Yerington area.
Several rural and some secondary public roads flood. Yards and
basements of lowest homes adjacent to the river in Mason and
Yerington begin flooding. Preventative sandbagging is necessary.
Possible damage to irrigation structures and levees.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:20 AM PDT Monday the stage was 11.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:20 AM PDT Monday was 11.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river will remain near Moderate flood stage
(11.0 feet).
- Flood stage is 9.8 feet.
