...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR BERNALILLO, SOUTHEASTERN SANDOVAL AND WEST CENTRAL SANTA FE COUNTIES... At 444 PM MDT, Although rainfall rates have decreased significantly, earlier storms produced up to 2 inches of rain, and excessive runoff will persist. this will keep a high risk of flash flooding. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Golden, Madrid, Sandia Park, Cedar Crest, San Antonito and Canoncito in Bernalillo County. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. && FLASH FLOOD...RADAR INDICATED

Northwestern Santa Fe County in north central New Mexico... * WHEN...Until 545 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 343 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow-moving showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing rainfall rates in excess of 2 inches per hour Tuesday afternoon and evening.
