...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY... The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening. * WINDS...Southwest winds between 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 to 35 mph this afternoon. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 MPH Tuesday afternoon. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15-20 percent both today and Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...South Central Nebraska and North Central Kansas Locations outside of the warning will still be expected to reach elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
