...INCREASED FIRE DANGER FOR EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM TODAY... Gusty westerly winds around 15 to 20 mph will overlap with relative humidities falling into the 25 to 35 percent range this afternoon leading to an increased fire danger for much of Eastern North Carolina. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Please refer to your local burn permitting authority on whether you can burn. If you do burn, use extreme caution and ensure fire suppression equipment is readily available.
