...INCREASED FIRE DANGER THURSDAY FROM 11 AM UNTIL 7 PM... Another dry and breezy day is expected Thursday afternoon across central North Carolina. The combination of strong winds gusting 20 to 30 mph, very dry air with relative humidity values dropping below 30%, and ongoing abnormally dry to severe drought conditions will result in an increased risk of adverse fire behavior. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Please consult your local burn permitting authorities as to whether burning is allowed today. If you must burn, use extreme caution, as fires can spread rapidly under these conditions.
