At 910 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong thunderstorms extending from 12 miles north of Custer to 8 miles southeast of Crow Agency, or extending from 14 miles west of Hysham to 20 miles southeast of Hardin, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... ...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures of 100 to 108, hottest over eastern Montana. Today is expected to be the hottest day. * WHERE...Portions of central, south central, and southeast Montana and north central Wyoming. * WHEN...Until 9 PM MDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerously hot daytime temperatures combined with warm overnight low temperatures will produce cumulative heat stress. This heat stress will quickly become dangerous to anyone without adequate cooling and hydration. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.
