...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM FRIDAY TO 6 PM CST
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and
12 inches. Greatest amounts are expected along and south of
Interstate 44 and the lowest amounts are expected across central
Missouri. Areas near the Missouri and Arkansas border may see
sleet mix with snow at times.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, east central,
south central, southwest, and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Friday to 6 PM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Very cold temperatures
in the single digits with wind chill values below zero will add to
the safety threat. Motorists should avoid traveling but will need
to plan for cold weather survival in the event they become
stranded.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. In Kansas, call 5 1 1 for road

NOON CST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 below expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, east central,
south central, southwest, and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...From midnight Friday Night to noon CST Monday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...With moderate to heavy snowfall accompanying
the dangerously cold
conditions, motorists should avoid traveling but will need to plan
for cold weather survival in the event they become stranded.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
