* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, west winds 10 to 15 kt
with gusts up to 30 kt and waves 1 to 2 ft expected. For the
Gale Watch, west winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and
waves 1 to 2 ft possible.

* WHERE...Grand Portage to Grand Marais MN, Grand Marais to
Taconite Harbor MN and Taconite Harbor to Silver Bay Harbor MN.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 6 AM to 9 AM CST
Tuesday. For the Gale Watch, from Tuesday morning through
Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Increasing winds behind a departing cold
front combined with enhancement from downslope winds could lead
to gale-force wind gusts along portions of the North Shore
Tuesday morning into early Tuesday afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions.  Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and waves.
