...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM WEDNESDAY TO 7 AM EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 8 inches. Locally higher accumulations are possible. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph causing areas of blowing and drifting snow. * WHERE...Mason, Muskegon, and Oceana Counties. * WHEN...From 4 AM Wednesday to 7 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Visibility and road conditions may change rapidly over short distances in lake effect snow. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A brief burst of snow and gusty winds is likely early Wednesday morning followed by lake effect snow. The greatest totals will be across Mason and Oceana Counties. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. For the Gale Warning, north winds 20 to 30 knots with gusts up to 40 knots and waves 8 to 13 feet expected. * WHERE...St Joseph to Manistee. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 4 AM EST Wednesday. For the Gale Warning, from 4 AM Wednesday to 1 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
