...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Lake effect snow. Snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches, with locally higher totals in excess of 10 inches possible through Wednesday evening. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will lead to instances of blowing and drifting snow on Wednesday. * WHERE...Central Chippewa and Western Chippewa Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult at times. The hazardous conditions will impact commutes from this evening through New Year's Eve. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Roads will be snow-covered and slippery. Be sure to travel at an appropriate speed for the weather conditions. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions. &&
