* WHAT...Significant lakeshore flooding.

* WHERE...Keweenaw County.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads closed and low lying property
including parking lots, lawns, and homes and businesses will
be inundated near the lake. Some shoreline erosion will occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

* WHAT...For the Storm Warning, north winds 30 to 40 kt with
gusts up to 55 kt and waves 15 to 20 ft occurring. For the
Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate
of 2 cm per hour or greater occurring, and may rapidly
accumulate on vessels.

* WHERE...Ontonagon to Upper Entrance of Portage Canal MI, Upper
Entrance of Portage Canal to Eagle River MI, Eagle River to
Manitou Island MI, Lake Superior from Saxon Harbor WI to Upper
Entrance to Portage Canal MI 5NM off shore to the US/Canadian
border including Isle Royale National Park and Lake Superior
from Upper Entrance to Portage Canal to Manitou Island MI 5NM
off shore to the US/Canadian Border.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Storm force winds and hazardous waves will capsize
or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Mariners should remain in port, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

Blizzard Warning
Issued: 9:10 AM Dec. 29, 2025 – National Weather Service
...BLIZZARD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between
3 and 7 inches, highest in areas of higher terrain. Winds gusting
as high as 60 mph.

* WHERE...Baraga, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, and Southern Houghton
Counties.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may
down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel
will be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow will
significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will
impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds
could cause extensive tree damage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with
your vehicle.
