* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Potomac River at Edwards Ferry.

* WHEN...From this evening until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, The basements of the Edwards Ferry
Lockhouse and Rileys Lockhouse are flooded. Backwater flooding may
affect homes on the Loudoun County side of the river near Broad
Run in Sterling.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 7.7 feet, or 7.3 feet
below flood stage.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this evening and continue rising to a crest of 21.1 feet
early tomorrow afternoon.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
21.1 feet on 05/17/2014.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Potomac River at Little Falls.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning to late Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 11.5 feet, Water covers the towpath in multiple spots
between the Washington Aqueduct Dam and Pennyfield Lock, mileposts
15 to 19 on the C&O Canal.
At 12.0 feet, The C&O Canal overflows at the Great Falls Tavern.
Water covers the towpath in many areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 4.7 feet, or 5.3 feet
below flood stage.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow morning to a crest of 11.8 feet tomorrow evening. It
will then fall below flood stage Friday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
