Most local roads near Fall Creek in southwest Madison, southeast Hamilton and northeast Marion Counties are flooded worse than December 2013. Residential areas near Luxhaven may be threatened. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:45 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 3:45 PM EDT Thursday was 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.8 feet just after midnight tonight. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 5 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Many rural roads impassable with flooding of homes in flood plain areas of the White River. Water is at the level of approximate record flood flow. Major modifications to White River at Muncie from 1940 to 1950 has lowered the March 1913 flood level in the city of Muncie. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 17.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:30 AM EDT Thursday was 17.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.8 feet this afternoon. Northeast and northwest portions of Anderson are under water. Water is several feet deep in residential, commercial, and municipal areas. SRs 109, 32, 9 and I-69 could be the only roads open over the White River. Many roads are impassable. Bridges may also be impassable or not safe for traffic. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 20.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:30 AM EDT Thursday was 20.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.2 feet just after midnight tonight.
