...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 4 PM CST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Two periods of accumulating lake effect snow expected.
Total snow accumulations could locally exceed 5 inches,
particularly near the lake.

* WHERE...Northern Cook County.

* WHEN...For the first Winter Weather Advisory, until 8 PM CST this
evening. For the second Winter Weather Advisory, from 6 AM to 4 PM
CST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. The hazardous conditions will
impact this evenings commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow is expected to impact the
area in two waves. The first will persist through this evening,
before the lake effect band shifts east into Indiana for a period
overnight. The band of snow is then expected to shift back
westward into parts of northeastern Illinois Saturday morning.
This will likely result in additional localized accumulations and
travel impacts.
