Up to 2.5 inches of rainfall has fallen so far in the Country Club Hills, Harvey, and Homewood areas, with multiple reports of roadway flooding received across portions of southern Cook County. Additional rainfall up to 1 inch is possible over the next 30 minutes. Worsening of flash flood impacts is imminent. HAZARD...Significant flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor out to Mid Lake... At 1030 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and frequent lightning. This thunderstorm was located near Wilmette Harbor, moving east at 20 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects. &&
