At 1006 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 nm southwest of Ohare Airport to 14 nm southwest of
Hammond Marina, moving east at 40 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southeastern Cook County in northeastern Illinois...
Kankakee County in northeastern Illinois...
Will County in northeastern Illinois...

* WHEN...Until 130 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 928 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms with rainfall rates of 1 to 2
inches per hour moving into an area with high soil moisture due
to recent rainfall. Minor flooding may begin shortly after the
onset of rainfall.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chicago, Joliet, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Orland Park, Tinley
Park, Oak Lawn, Romeoville, Plainfield, Calumet City, Chicago
Heights, Roseland, Lansing, Oak Forest, Kankakee, Harvey and

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Thorn Creek from Near Glenwood downstream to confluence
with Little Calumet River, including the Thornton gauge.

* WHEN...From this evening to Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, 187th Street threatened in Glenwood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.7 feet
just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage
late Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
