Air Quality Index is forecast to be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. * WHERE...Power, Bannock and Bingham counties. * WHEN...Until 11 AM MDT Monday 7/29/24. * IMPACTS...Members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is less likely to be affected. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Air pollutants can cause breathing difficulties for children, the elderly, as well as persons with respiratory problems. Those individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter or smoke are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity during this advisory. Open burning is prohibited by air quality rule. It is also recommended that all other individuals limit prolonged or strenuous activity outdoors. ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WINDS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 410... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 10 PM MDT SATURDAY FOR SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 410... The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Red Flag Warning for scattered thunderstorms, which is in effect from noon to 10 PM MDT Saturday. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 410 Upper Snake River Valley/Idaho Falls BLM. * WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Scattered thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon and evening on Saturday. Besides gusty and erratic winds near thunderstorms, frequent lightning can increase wildfire starts. * THUNDERSTORMS...25 to 50 percent coverage expected. * OUTFLOW WINDS...40 to 60 MPH possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly based on these criteria for Southeastern Idaho: - Relative humidity at or below 15 percent and wind gusts of at least 25 mph in the mountains, or 30 mph in the Snake Plain. - Thunderstorm coverage of 25 percent, without specific rainfall criteria. &&
