...Gusty Wind and Lower Relative Humidity May Cause Elevated Fire Weather Conditions Today... WHAT...The wind will become gusty from the south today with sustained winds at 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to around 40 mph. The wind may cause localized blowing dust, especially over open fields. In addition, elevated fire weather conditions may occur due to these winds and dry conditions. WHERE...Along and north of Highway 20 and along and west of Interstate 35. WHEN..At least through mid this afternoon. IMPACTS...Unsecured outdoor objects may be blown around and smaller tree branches may break. Visibility may be reduced due to blowing dust. Any fires that ignite may spread rapidly. PREPAREDNESS AND PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS...Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle on east/west roads, and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions and reduced visibility. Burning is discouraged.
