Areas of fog this morning may become locally dense, reducing
visibilities to 1/4 mile or less at times.

Motorists should use low beam headlights and remain alert for
rapidly changing visibilities. Allow extra time to reach your
destination.

MORNING...
...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...For the Dense Fog Advisory, dense fog will reduce
visibility to 1/4 to 1/2 NM. For the Gale Warning, northwest
winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and seas 2 to 4 feet
expected.

* WHERE...Long Island Sound west of the Orient Point and the
Connecticut River, and New York Harbor.

* WHEN...For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 11 AM EDT this
morning. For the Gale Warning, from 6 AM to 6 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Low
visibility will make navigation difficult.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.
