Southeastern New Haven County in southern Connecticut... New London County in southern Connecticut... * WHEN...Until 1245 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1041 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... ...A GUST FRONT OVER THE WATERS... The areas affected include... Eastern Long Island Sound... Peconic and Gardiners Bays... At 1008 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This gust front was located near Great Peconic Bay, moving northeast at 20 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and potential lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. &&
