* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, south winds 25 to 35 mph with
gusts up to 65 mph expected. For the High Wind Watch, south winds
25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.

* WHERE...Modoc County, including Alturas, Canby, Tionesta, Adin,
and along highway 395.

* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until 1 PM PST this afternoon.
For the High Wind Watch, from late tonight through Thursday
afternoon.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property and
cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for
high profile vehicles. Large inflatable holiday decorations will
be blown about.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind hazards will likely occur again
Wednesday night into Christmas Day.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around
or damaged by the wind. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use

Winter Storm Warning

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM WEDNESDAY TO 10
AM PST FRIDAY ABOVE 5500 FT IN MODOC COUNTY...

* WHAT...Strong winds and heavy snow expected. Strong winds will
first impact the area overnight into Wednesday morning with south
winds 30 to 40 mph and gusts of 50 to 60 mph. Winds will gust as
high as 80 mph over high and exposed terrain. South winds ease
later Wednesday morning, then increase again late Wednesday night
into Thursday, 30 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph. Meanwhile,
snow levels will remain high through Wednesday (around 6000-7000
ft), lowering to 5000-5500 ft for Wednesday night into Friday.
Heavy snow is expected above 5500 ft with snow accumulations of 6
to 14 inches.

* WHERE...The Warner mountains of Modoc County. This includes Cedar
Pass on Highway 395.

* WHEN...From 4 AM Wednesday to 10 AM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel may be very difficult to impossible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute.
Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds are expected overnight
into Wednesday morning, then again late Wednesday night through
Thursday. The heaviest snow is expected late Wednesday night
through Thursday evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
