...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR THE AGUA FRIA RIVER NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding in and around the Agua Fria River, caused by excessive rainfall overnight, continues. * WHERE...The Agua Fria River basin in Yavapai County. * WHEN...Until 145 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in creeks and normally dry washes in and around the Agua Fria River is occurring. Dangerous flooding possible over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1135 AM MST, Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Tank Creek, Big Bug Creek, Antelope Creek, Bishop Creek, Larry Creek, Copper Creek, Black Canyon, Ash Creek, Agua Fria River, Little Sycamore Creek, Sycamore Creek, Badger Spring Wash, Castle Creek, Government Spring Wash, Little Ash Creek, Rock Creek, North Fork Rock Creek, Dry Creek, Indian Creek, Silver Creek, Black Canyon Creek, Slate Creek, Squaw Creek and Turkey Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Agua Fria National Monument, Cordes Lakes, Black Canyon City, Cordes Junction, Arcosanti, Dugas, Rock Springs and Castle Creek Wilderness. - This includes the following highways... State Route 69 near mile marker 263. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Black Canyon Campground. - Additional information is available at weather.gov/flagstaff. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Low water crossings could be dangerous. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding, caused by excessive rainfall from deep sub-tropical moisture moving over the area, will be possible through Saturday. * WHERE...Much of northern and central Arizona, except for Apache County south of the Four Corners. * WHEN...Through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Flooding will be possible in creeks, streams and normally dry washes. Low-water crossings could also become flooded, which would create deadly travel conditions. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding of paved roads and highway underpasses will be possible. Unpaved roads could become muddy and impassable. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. &&
