The Mendenhall River has receded after the glacier lake outburst
flood, but trees and other debris have still been observed on the
Mendenhall River and extending down into Stephens Passage, Fritz
Cove, and Favorite Channel. Caution is advised for mariners and
all recreational users on the water for hazards to their vessels.
