...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 AM CST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. * WHERE...Ashland and Bayfield Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bad River Reservation and the Red Cliff Band. Other locations including Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. * WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 6 AM CST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A quick moving lake effect snow band is expected to affect the Bayfield Peninsula and Chequamegon Bay into northern Ashland County from late this afternoon through early Sunday morning. This band could bring a very quick hit of heavy snowfall rates in excess of 1 inch per hour and localized total amounts of 6 inches are possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Lake effect snow bands and showers are expected to create conditions ranging from locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions. &&
