...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Rain mixing with then changing to snow. Snow accumulations will range from a coating over the southern and southwest suburbs of Washington DC, to 2 or 3 inches over northeastern Maryland. * WHERE...Washington DC, and portions of central, north-central, northeast, and northern Maryland, and northern Virginia. * WHEN...Until 6 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain or a rain/snow mix will change to all snow by around daybreak, with the highest accumulations in the northwest suburbs. A light glaze of ice from spotty freezing is possible over northern and northeastern Maryland early this morning. After a lull from late morning through early afternoon, additional snow falls in the afternoon mainly east of Interstate 95. Visibility may drop to less than one mile at times. The snow should end during the late afternoon or early evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling.
