Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Potential rainfall rates: locally 25 to 50 mm per hour in thunderstorms.

Potential wind gusts: 80 to 100 km/h in thunderstorms.

Potential hail size: dime to nickel. 

Time span: early this afternoon until late this evening.

Remarks: Thunderstorms, with potential to become severe, are expected to develop as the air mass over the region becomes increasingly unstable.

A period of hot and humid weather will continue.

Time span: today and Friday.

Maximum temperature today: near 32 degrees Celsius (Humidex: near 38 to 42).
Minimum temperature tonight: 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature Friday: 30 to 33 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36 to 40).

Remarks: Conditions are expected to slowly ease from north to south on Saturday, but southern New Brunswick could still experience high temperatures and humidity until later in the day. Cooler conditions can be expected along parts of the immediate Fundy coast.

Humidex values of 40 or higher are expected over all areas of New Brunswick (except coastal Fundy areas) from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. today and over southern New Brunswick (except coastal Fundy areas) from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Friday.
