Sean Potter is a meteorologist, weather historian and contributing editor of Weatherwise magazine, where his column “Retrospect” explores the intersection of weather and history. He holds certifications from the American Meteorological Society in both consulting and broadcast meteorology and is the author of “Too Near for Dreams: The Story of Cleveland Abbe, America’s First Weather Forecaster.”
