Arctic cold air has pushed into the Southeast, bringing bitter cold temperatures as far south as Florida. The entire state is engulfed in wind chills below freezing, with the northern tier of the state seeing wind chills in the teens. Many cities are forecast to break records with these temperatures. Heavy snow and bitterly cold temperatures made the job tougher for at least two teams of North Carolina firefighters on Sunday. House fires had to be fought in Morehead City and Nags Head. No injuries were reported.
