Typhoon Sinlaku Leaves Widespread Damage On US Islands

Super Typhoon Sinlaku, the strongest tropical cyclone on Earth this year, tore across the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. territory, on Tuesday and Wednesday. It had sustained winds of 150 mph when it made landfall. Preliminary reports mention flooding, uprooted trees and downed power lines across Saipan and Tinian islands. There were no reports of deaths.
