The temperature roller coaster is at it again! Many cities across the eastern U.S. could see record heat Thursday and Friday, but not for much longer. A strong cold front will knock temperatures back down.

Yet again in what has been a very active month for severe weather, another round of severe thunderstorms is forecast in the Midwest Thursday. Here are the forecast details and perspective about another busy March.

This wall of snow and ice swept toward a residential area in Turkey this week, narrowly missing homes as it surged through a mountain valley. This avalanche was triggered by a recent rise in temperatures at higher elevations, which destabilized the heavy snowpack accumulated during the winter months.

If you suffer from tree pollen allergies and live in the southern half of the country, you might be begging for some relief from Mother Nature right about now. Unfortunately, there’s none in the forecast, because this week is dry with a capital D-R-Y. Tree pollen reigns supreme right now, but grass pollen is starting to make its move from the Southern Plains to the Gulf Coast.
