It may only be early October, but a nor'easter is impacting the East Coast. Here are the forecast details, including potential for wind, rain and coastal flooding for days.
A small plane crashed onto the median of Interstate 195 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, erupting into flames and killing two people. The fiery wreck unfolded as a powerful nor’easter swept through the region, battering the area with heavy rain and wind up to 40 miles per hour.
The first significant storm system of the season will bring rain to much of the state of California and snow to the Sierra. Rain will move into Northern California and the Central Coast Monday. Showers and storms start to impact Southern California Monday night into Tuesday. A few severe storms can’t be ruled out with gusty winds as the main threat. Flood watches are in effect for Southern California, including Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, where 1-3 inches will be possible. While rain is falling along the coast, snow will be piling up in the higher elevations. More on the timing here.
