After morning heavy rain, showers and thunderstorms will develop and become more widespread again this afternoon. A few severe storms will be possible with the main threats being damaging winds and large hail, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The heaviest rain will fall Thursday night, finally tapering off Friday morning. One to 4 inches of rain will be possible in the watch area, which includes Dallas, Waco, Austin and San Antonio. However isolated totals as high as 6 to 8 inches will be possible in the western Hill Country and Southern Edwards Plateau. Please drive with caution and stay alert for flooding.
