Erin To Bring Worst Impacts To NC Wednesday, Thursday

Hurricane Erin is forecast to grow significantly in size, so the wind field will continue to increase as well. Tropical storm conditions will likely begin on the Outer Banks of North Carolina Wednesday and continue through Thursday. Breaking waves could get as high as 20-plus feet and extreme beach and coastal damage is likely. There is potential for portions of NC-12 to be impassable for several days.
