In my enthusiastic interest of sharing my love of my land, I have begun a section in my blog titled "This is Texas". The photos in this collection are taken from all over Texas and by many different photogs. I welcome you to look over these photos, you might be surprised by the variety that Texas has to offer.
Red River Drought East

Caption: When Sadie791 posted her beautiful photo of the Red River out in West Texas, it inspired me to take a little trip north up to the Red River where it meanders through East Texas. You can see the sandbars and the wide banks that are dry, this is despite a few inches of rain the entire drought afflicted area has received over the last week. I can't imagine what it would have looked like before the rain. If you compare my photo with hers you will see that the river isn't nearly as red here in the east as it is to the west of us.
