Two Harbors, MN (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Two Harbors Lighthouse and fog signal is situated on a point that separates Agate Bay and Burlington Bay. The station was put into operation in1892. In 1921, the kerosene light used in the Fresnel lens was replaced by an electric light that increased the light’s power from 30,000 candlepower to 230,000 candlepower. The Fresnel lens, a revolving four-sided lens was removed in 1969--in its place, a twenty-four-inch aerobeacon was installed that still is in use today. See more info below:

About minnesotamom

Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in northern Minnesota, USA, where the winter temps have dipped down to -60º below zero F. The summers used to be mild but in recent years have been up in the 90ºs. I love being able to travel the world from my office chair, through all your great photos! I've learned tons about photography and editing photos thanks to all the great people on here and their willingness to share tips. Thank you to all you Wunderfriends who take time to look and leave notes---I deeply appreciate it. :-)
