WOW MAX!! I'm so happy you found these,,I figured there was one or two near that area, after seeing one of the birds do the damaged wing dance,,lol..I just can't ever get over WHY? they build in places so close to humans and cars!! I have observed them hunting around the gravel almost directly in a tire track,,or close by..maybe the DNR should make a special area that vehicles don't go over,,but then, they would probably build on them anyway,,lol! I sure hope they make it,,I would LOVE to get my very own 'lil tykes' for a change,,I am almost always mindful of where I walk when they are around, and they sure let you know it too, huh?!! Great Killdeer series Max! Nice sunsets too!!;)

Nice shot of the eggs. No wonder they
are subject to being stepped on. Can
hardly tell them from the gravel.

Thanks, Maxine.

About Nikongranny

Old, retired with lots of time on my hands and a Nikon. Lucky for me, there is a park just north of town that provides me with migrating birds and sunsets. Since joining this site, I have a new appreciation for this scenic world we live in. I especially love the comments from so many great people on here.
